Whats Upcoming in and around Rowntree

Every Sunday – non-perishable food donations to ELUCO’s food cupboard always appreciated. Please leave them in bin inside the glass doors.   

Our own music director,  Ryan Baxter, has 2 recitals this month; Nov 28 @ 12:00 pm is a piano recital at First St Andrews UC and Dec 4 @ 12:00 pm an organ recital at Calvary UC. 

 

 

 

The Forest City Singers present – ‘The Sounds of Christmas’ on Dec 5 @ 7pm. This is a great way to get into the Christmas Spirit!

 Rowntree has run a special Christmas hamper program of different styles for many years. On Nov 14, we registered 58 adults and 20 children for this Christmas. . Please consider donating funds to help purchase the grocery and children’s gift cards needed. Use envelopes provided or note ‘Hamper’ on your offering.

If Christmas time for you is not necessarily a joyful time, our Blue Christmas Service may be more meaningful. December 13 at 2 pm. 

The United Church is 100 years Young

The 100th anniversary of The United Church of Canada was launched with special services, locally and nationally, on June 9, 2024, and will culminate with a national service on June 8, 2025. The occasion will also be recognized at the 45th General Council, to be held in July in Calgary, Alberta.

This is a year of celebration but also of lament. While honouring the good work we have done, we also name honestly our history as a denomination, acknowledge our colonial past and our role in residential schools, as well as other harms done by stances we have or have not taken collectively.

We appreciate your donations

We appreciate your help- your care; your prayers, your donations,  any time you help support our causes with your donations. Our church supports many community projects; 2 meal programs, VON programming, Scouts and Guide groups and many others. All these require a building, which requires heating, lighting and cleaning among other things.
