Improvements to our building complete

We’ve reduced our natural gas usage by about 60% since 2011 by installing a new boiler and new windows. But we had one area that needed attention: the east foyer that has our lift ( elevator) access. You could feel the cold in that area in the winter as it flows down the elevator shaft. And we have condensation problems with water stains in the ceiling and flaking paint- pictured. So,  in concert with Faithful Footsteps of the United Church and Thomas Dyna-Build contractors, we improved the insulation and ventilation in the foyer.

This past summer Dave from Dyna-Build found water stains inside the attic and then went up on the steel roof and found a few problem areas in the way the  roof was installed. ( London Eco-Roof ), so they fixed the roof issues.  To add more ventilation two vents were installed in the north and south walls of the addition to improve ventilation in the attic. The lift ( elevator ) shaft and the ceiling was insulated and new drywall was installed. The last big piece of the renovation job was the installation of the new doors.
